Biochemistry is a major subject opted by students in senior college. The department aims to guide the students to assist the society about health prospective.
The department is working under esteem guidance of Associate professor and Incharge of Department Mr. U.K.Bhalekar. The Teaching staff of department includes Ms. A.A. Balode, Ms. I.B. Soneji, Ms. S.V. Agrawal, MS. R.S. Pendharkar, Ms. A.H. Kurekar and Ms. P.H. Dhole. The Department of Biochemistry has shown its potential by participating and conducting various activities during the academic session. The Department has organized the assignments, seminars and projects for the B.Sc part I, II and III year students as part of their syllabus for internal assessment and to increase the skill of the students. Along with three year degree course, department provides the students with Certificate course in Clinical Laboratory Technology (CCLT), Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Technology (DCLT) and Advance Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Technology (ADCLT) to motivate the students for their better future in this field.
The department in association with Microbiology department has also organized the Blood grouping camp which was held on 24th Dec. 2013 in memory of Late Principal Shri. M.G. Joshi Sir.
In University level research competition “Avishkar” Ms. Rasika Udapure, Ms. Ankita Sharma (B.Sc. III) & Mr. Akshay Shriwas (B.Sc. II) took the colour coat & represented Amravati University at State Level.
This year department has successfully conducted the “State Level Microbiology Students” Summit on Pure Water for Better Health.” More than 400 students were benefitted & around 40 faculties all over Maharashtra attended the Summit. Biochemistry students also took an active part in this summit. The eminent & dynamic personalities like Dr. P.R. Thorat, Dr. P.S. Wakte & Dr. A.M. Deshmukh addressed the students by their informative technical talk session.

The team of Biochemistry and Microbiology students of B.Sc. II (Ms. Diksha Choube, Ms. Ashiwini Huse & Ms. Devyani Shelke) & B.Sc. III (Ms. Abhilasha Deshmukh, Ms. Maithilee Deshmukh & Ms. Priya Ingle ) both secured Second position all over Maharashtra at Micro Olympaid State level Microbiology Competition organized by R.C. Patel College, Shirpur.
Micro Olympaid State level Microbiology Competition organized by R.C. Patel College, Shirpur honored Ms. Abhilasha Deshmukh with Award of Excellence for outstanding performance since last three years in Microbiology subject all around Maharashtra.
The students are encouraged for good work in different fields and duly awarded for their bright accomplishment every year on Republic Day.
Eight Under Graduate students and two teaching Staff participated in “Youth Convention” or ganized by P.R. Patel Enigineering College, Amravati on occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.
Department always strives for the betterment of students. Department has collaborated with Microbiologist Society India & has founded MICRANS unit of RLT Microbiology,this year.
MICRANS unit of Microbiology Department & Red Ribbon Club (NSS) has organized the AIDS Awareness Program, in which students took active part.
Students of the department enthusiastically participate in extra-curricular activities like Seminars, Education tours, etc.
