Report of Extra Curricular Activities : 2013-2014

Following extra-curricular activities were organized and conducted successfully by cultural committee during academic year 2013-14.

  1. Guest lecture by Dr. Hemant Joshi (06/07/2013)

In order to develop confidence and superiority among the students a guest lecture of Dr. Hemant Joshi (Ex. Student of R.L.T. College, Akola) Virar, Mumbai was arranged on “Mast Raha No. 1 Vha” in auditorium hall.

  1. Girls Hostel Opening Programme (22/07/2013)

On the eve of “Guru Pornima” Gils Hostel Opening Programme was organized in the college in which newly constructed building of girl’s hostel was inaugurated by the hands of Dr. Kiran Laddha, Jr. Vice President of B.G.E. Society, Akol. Annual Magazine of College was also inaugurated on the same day. All the executive members of The B.G.E. Society and Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty were present for the above programme.

  1. Independence Day (15/08/2013)

Independence Day was celebrated exuberantly. Flag hoisting ceremony was held with the hands of Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty. Captain R.D. Chaudhari and Mr. R.D. Chandrawanshi (D.P.E.) took effort for success of day followed by ‘Tree Plantation programme’ in which teachers and college students actively participated.

  1. Constitution of Students Representative Council (24/08/2013)

As per the guidelines received from SGB Amravati University, the SRC of college was constituted on Saturday, 24.08.2013 Ku Prachi Tathurkar (M.Sc. II) was elected unanimously as University Representative of college.

  1. Visit of Lokmat Yuva Nxt Team (30-08-2013)

Shri Milan Darda, Director of Lokmat Daily Newspaper Co. and Shri. Ramesh Dedhwal, Asst. Gen. Manager, Lokmat Daily Newspaper Co. visited and interacted with the college students, discussed objectives of ‘Lokmat Yuva Nxt’ and Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty expressed his view on role of newspapers in the awareness of the society.

  1. Teachers Day (05-09-2013)

On the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan Teachers Day was celebrated by organizing ‘Acknowledgement Ceremony’ Dr. V.D. Nanoty presided over function, explained deep and friendly relationship of students and teachers.

  1. N.S.S. Foundation Day Programme (24-09-2013)

N.S.S. Foundation Day Programme was celebrated under presidentship of Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty and in the significant presence of Prof. Vaishali Badgujar, Prof. Archana Amaley and Prof. Kohchale, who conducted the programme, and all the teaching, non-teaching staff and students were present.

  1. Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti (02-10-2013)

Late M.K. Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti was celebrated under president ship of Principal    Dr.V.D. Nanoty by garlanding the portrait of these two great leaders. All the teaching, non-teaching staff and students were present.

  1. State Level Microbiological Summit (10-10-2013)

State Level Microbiological Summit organized by Department of Microbiology, in collaboration with Microbiology Society India (MSI. Overwhelming response was observed. More than 500 students participated in the programme. All teaching staff, non teaching staff and MICRANS association of students took effort for the success of summit.

  1. Youth festival (25-09-13 to 28-09-13)

S.G.B. Amravati University, Amravati organized a Youth Festival at Degree College of Physical Education during 25-09-13 to 28-09-13 Mr. Mangesh Ubale Librarian and team manager took team of 21 students to participate in various events of youth festival.

  1. Worlds AIDS Day (01-12-2013)

Red Ribbon Club undertook an awareness campaign about AIDS by tying Red Ribbon to all faculty members and students of the college.

  1. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirwan Din (06-12-2013)

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirwan Din was observed by Republican Students Federation (RSF) of college on 06.12.2013 Hon’ble speaker Dr. Vinod Khaire delivered an illustrative lecture on the life, thoughts and work of Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Hon’ble Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty was president and Mr. Ambhore conducted the programme.

  1. Sant Gadge Maharaj Death Anniversary (20-12-2013)

Death Anniversary of Sant Gadge Baba was observed in the college by offering floral tribute to a portrait of Sant gadge Baba and arranging a cleanliness campaign in the college premises.

  1. Late Principal M.G. Joshi Memorial Ceremony (24-12-2013)

Late Principal M.G. Joshi Memorial Day was observed in the college on 24-12-2013 by organizing ‘Blood Donation Camp’. 29 persons donated blood under guidance of expert doctor’s team from District Sarvopachar Hospital (General Medical), Akola. Apart from this, Microbiology and Biochemistry department conducted camp for testing blood parameters like blood group and hemoglobin for students and teachers. About 170 students and 50 staff members took advantage of this facility. Our Late Principal M.G. Joshi had served to mathematics department in his tenure, on keeping this in view newly constructed department of mathematics and six new class rooms were inaugurated on the same day.

Above programme was followed by prize distribution ceremony. Prizes of about 15000/- Rs. Were distributed to deserving students for their academic achievements with the hands of dignitaries on the dais. All the executive members of The B.G.E. Society, Akola were graced the stage of programme.

Principal, Dr.V.D. Nanoty gave introductory speech, Miss Priti Sharma and Miss. Hatekar conducted the programme and Prof. Pravin Kawle proposed vote of thanks.

  1. Savitribai Phule Jayanti (03-01-2014)

Kratijyoti Savitribai Phule Birth Anniversary was celebrated, Principal Dr.V.D. Nanoty offered a garland to portrait of Savitribai Phule, enlighted the students about the striving life of Savitribai and Prof. P.R. Kawle expressed vote of thanks. A Rising Day Programme for Women was held on same day in our college by Police Department, Shri Virendra Mishra, Superintendent of Police, Akola beside this citizens from various places were present for this programme

  1. National Youth Day (12-01-2014)

Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary was celebrated as National Yoth Day.

  1. The B.G.E. Society’s Foundation Day (14-01-2014)

On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, 78the Foundation Day of The Berar General Education Society was celebrated on Tuesday, 14-01-2014 in Shri. R.L.T. college of Science, Akola Hon. Secretary, Vimalkumarji Goenka read annual report of society. Principals of various colleges of society read progress reports of their colleges complete B.G.E. family participated in the function. The programme was anchored by Prof. S.R. Amravatikar, Jt. Secretary of society and Prof. S.B. Tadam proposed vote of thanks.

The function was followed by glorious musical programme and delicious refreshment.

  1. Republic Day Ceremony & Felicitation Programme (26-01-2014)

On Republic Day, flag hoisting was performed at the hands of honourable principal Dr.V.D. Nanoty at 7-30 am. After flag hosting ceremony a special programme was arranged to appreciate and felicitate students and staff for their achievements in various fields. Mr. R.D. Chandrawanshi (D.P.E.) conducted the programme and Prof. S.B. Tadam proposed vote of thanks, teaching and non-teaching staff worked hard to make function a grand success.

  1. Shiv Jayanti (19-02-2014)

Birth Anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated in the college. In the presidential speech Dr.V.D. Nanoty explained discipline and administration of Shivaji Maharaj. Pro. Vaishali Badgujar conducted the programme and Prof. S.B. Tadam expressed thank of audience.

  1. National Science Day (28-02-2014)

On the eve of the ‘National Sciences Day’ Shri R.L.T. College of Science in Collaboration with Lokmat Yuva Nxt and Balvikas Manch organized science exhibition (Science Pundits-14). Total 20 school and 36 colleges participated in the exhibition, Prizes were given by the hands of Dr. R.C. Jain, Dr.V.D. Nanoty and Mr. Malpani, Prof. Shrikant Wadhone and Prof, Chayya Badnakhe worked as jury member and Dr. S.R. Kohchale and Prof. Archana Amaley took efforts for the success of the science exhibition.

  1. Send off function and Cultural Programme (10-03-2014)

Send off for B.Sc. III and M.Sc. II students was organized by college on Wednesday, 10th March 2014. Prof. Pravin R. Kawle, Cultural in-charge gave introductory speech. Prof. U.K. Bhalekar, Dr. Padhey addressed students of B.Sc. III and M.Sc. II. Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty extended his best wishes for their bright future. Ku Sonia Nagre conducted the programme and Digvijay Borode express vote of thanks.

Send off function was followed by ‘Cultural programme’, in which melodious songs recited by college students and staff members. Mr. Mandar Navghare and Ku. Rabiya Zulfi anchored the programme marvelously. All students enjoyed refreshment at the end of cultural programme, Prof. Pravin R. Kawle, Prof. S.B. Tadam. Prof. R.D. Chaudhari, Dr. Poonam Agrawal and Dr. Harish Malpani, Prachi Tathurkar (U.R.) SRC members, students, teaching and non-teaching staff worked hard for success of programme.

  1. AIDS Awareness Programme (05-03-2014)

AIDS awareness programme was organized in the college, in collaboration with Microbiology Department’s Association ‘MICRANS’ on 05-03-2014. Dr.Rina Dhote and Dr. Narayan Ingle Counselor General Govt. Hospital were invited to address the students. In the presidential speech Dr.V.D. Nanoty told students about the responsibilities of youth in AIDS awareness campaign.

  1. Voters Awarness Campaign (07-04-2014)

In order to make people aware to cast their vote and increase rate of polling percent ‘Voters Awareness Campaign’ was organized at Vasant Desai Stadium under the guidance of Hon’ble Principal Dr.V.D. Nanoty. Total 15 teachers along with 50 students actively participated in the campaign.

  1. 14 Tas Abhyas Vikasacha Dhaya (14-04-2014)

On the occasion of 123rd Birth Anniversary of Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a programme ’14 Tas Abhyas Vikasacha Dhyas’ was arranged under the guidance of Hon’ble Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty on 14-04-2014 in the college. Teaching staff along with degree college students and junior college students, total 100 students paid great homage to Dr. B.R. A,bedkar and participated in the programme by studying 14 hours in a day.

  1. No Vehicle Day

To develop individual’s health and to preserve greenness in the environment, all staff members and students of college observed ‘No Vehicle Day’ on 1st and 15th day of every month.

Last meeting of cultural committee was held on 1st March 2014, in which report was finalised.
