1.      Prof. D.R. Dongaonkar, H.O.D. (Physics) retired on 31^st July, 2009.

2.      Shri. Sarang Ingle, Lab Asstt. Retired in June 2009.

3.      Shri. S.M. Umrekar, Lab Asstt. Retired in Dec. 2009.

U.G.C. sponsored National level conference on Astronomy is sanctioned and will take place soon.

STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS –

 Participation in conferences –

1.      Shri. Hitesh Sharma and Shri. Ajinkya Mohril from B.Sc. III participated in paper presentation in state level event Sof Tex’10 in SINHGAD college of science, Pune (27^th Jan. 2010).

2.      Mr. Karan Akhilesh Shukla of B.Sc. III has undergone training in the instrumentation deptt. Of Raymond UCD company.

3.      Ku. Sulbha Kulkarni and Ku. Shubhada Kulkarni of B.Sc. II participated in 3 days students’ conference in Astronomy in V.N.I.T. (formerly V.R.C.E.) Nagpur in Jan. 2010. They also won prize there in quiz competition.

4.      Shri. Bharat Taware of B.Sc. I and Shri. Vikrant Raje of B.Sc. II participated in University level seminar competition in Physics practicals at Shri. Shivaji College, Amravati.

i)      Dr. S.B. Dhannasare, lecturer (C.H.B.) in physics department worked on “Electrochemical gas sensor” and his paper is on way of publication. He worked on this topic from March 2007 till June 2009. His guide was Dr. S.P. Yawale, Reader V.M.V. Amravati.

ii) Shri. Y.P. Manwar, lecturer (C.H.B.) in physics department worked on “Active Butter work Fitters” (Low pass, High Pass and Band Pass) with respect to order of filters. He worked on this topic from March 2007 till June 2009. His guide was Dr. S.P. Yawale, Reader V.M.V. Amravati.

iii)              Dr. S.B. Dhannasare and Shri. Y.P. Manwar received M. Phil. degree in 2009-10.

iv)              Text book Physics for B.Sc. I Vol. 2 – Co-author Prof. M.S. Tapi.

v)                Practical in physic for B.Sc. I, II, III – Study material prepared by teachers of Physics department.

vi)              Shri. M.S. Tapi delivered a lecture in the N.S.S. camp of the college. This lecture was on personality development in September 2009.

vii)           Examined the paper in essay competition conducted by pramilatai Oke, Granthalaya and hence received memento from the Granthalaya in November 2009.

viii)         Shri. J.L. Manputra and Shri. A.T. Khandare participated in free coaching camp for preparation of P.M.T. and P.E.T. exam for poor and economically weaker section students of Akola organized by department district Magistrate Akola in May 2009.

ix)              Shri. J.L. Manputra Lect. (C.H.B.) in physics attended state level training programme for the Jr. College teachers at Pune and thereafter trained the Jr. College teachers of Akola, Buldana, Washim in August 2007.

Student Achievements 2009-10

i)                   Ku. Sulbha Kulkarni and Ku. Shubhada Kulkarni of B.Sc. II participated in 3 days Astronomy conference for students in V.N.I.T. Nagpur in Jan 2010.

ii)                Shri. Bharat Taware – B.Sc. I and Shri. Vikrant Raje – B.Sc. II Participated in University level physics practical seminar competition for Degree College students held at Shri Shivaji College Amravati.

iii)              Two students of B.Sc. III participated in Paper presentation at Simhgad College of Engineering Pune.

Pride of Department

·        Ku. Beena Chandak was selected as a best student of S.G.B. Amt. University, Amravati and felicitated by Governor of Maharashtra (12^th January 2007).She stood 1^st Merit in B.Sc. 2006 University Examination

·        Ku. Beena Chandak won five Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals and two cash prizes from S.G.B. Amravati University, Amravati in summer 2006 examination.

·        Ku. Rohini Gawande stood 3^rd merit in S.G.B. Amravati University summer 2004 examination.

·        Ms. Darshana Yadav appointed as a Programmer trainee in Cognizent Technology Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Pune through campus placement.

·        Mr. Chinmay Thakar and Mr. Ajaz Shaikh were selected in Apex laboratories Pvt. Ltd. Chennai.

·        Ku. Sulabha Kulkami and Shubhada Kulkarni (B.Sc. I) stood 1^st and 2^nd resp. in summer 2009 University Examination at college level.

Curricular and Extra curricular Activities of students

  Ku. Krutika Kulkarni participated in National level NCC programme at Delhi.

 Mr. Pankaj Pathak, Ku. Dipali Murkute (B.Sc. III) participated in poster competition at Amravati during Regional Level Workshop on "Advances in Electronics".

Mr. Karan Shukla undergone training in Instrumentation Department of Raymond UCO Denim Pvt. Ltd., Yavatmal.
