In the year 1958, Seth Radhakisan Laxminarayan Toshniwal gave a donation of Rs.50,000/- to the B.G.E.
Society, Akola to start an independent Science College in his name. The society initially started its faculty of science in Sitabai Arts College with Mathematics Stream. The Biology Section was added in 1966. The faculty of Science was separated as an independent Science College on 1st April 1970 and named after the donor. Thus, the generosity of late Seth Radhakisan Laxminarayan Toshniwal opened avenues for our students to brighten up their academic career.
Rules and Regulations for admissions
Right to admit a student to the college is reserved by the Principal. Every student seeking admission to the
College shall satisfy himself/ her self that/he/she is eligible to take admission to the college as per rules. For any mistake, he/she will be responsible. Application for admission is to be made on prescribed form complete in all respects and duly attested by his/her father or legal guardian along with full fees payable on admission. Application form should be accompanied with:

School I College Leaving Certificate attested true copy and original.

True copy of all mark list of last all qualifying examinations.

Two recent passport size photographs.

If there is a gap between the joining of this college and the last qualifying examination, the student will have to produce a gap certificate attested by a magistrate stating that he / she did not join any institution during the gap period.

Students migrated from other Boards, are required to submit provisional eligibility certificate issued by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Amravati at the time of admission, otherwise admission will not be finalized.

An original certificate of marks the last qualifying examination. (be submitted for inspection when asked for.)

Admission to any class will be finalized after submission of the above required documents with the application form.

Every student seeking admission to this college will be interviewed by the principal without which no admission shall be made final. Admission to any class is complete only when the fees as per the fee schedule is paid on the day of admission.

Every student admitted to the college will have to join N.C.C./P.T. Classes.

No Cricket Team wilt be formed during 2008-2009.

Enrolment
All the students who are appearing for the first time at the S.G.B. Amravati University Exam must fill
Enrolment form and submit the same to the college along with all necessary certificates before the due date with all necessary fees. A student will have to bear a fine of Rs. 10/- if he/she does not fill his/her enrolment form before the due date along with the necessary certificates. No student can appear the University exam unless he/she fills, and submits the Enrolment form. To avoid this he/she should fill the enrolment form within time. Identity Card.

Every Bonafied student of the college should have the Identity Card. The Identity Card should be purchased from the college consumer co-operative store / Office immediately on admission. Students taking admission in the subsequent academic year will get the Identity Card renewed within 15 days from the date of admission.

Students must keep the Identity Card with them when -

They are in the premises of the college.

They are attending the classes. (Theory / Practical or College Functions.)

They are receiving the scholarship, Library Books, Money Orders, Registered letters, Railway or Bus concessions, caution money or Deposits or T.C. etc.

They are attending Educational Tours, Sports, games or other activities conducted on behalf of the University.

For any election held on behalf of the college / University, voting will not be allowed unless the student produces Identity Card complete in all respects.

The Identity Card must be produced by the student whenever it is demanded. Any student without Identity Card in the college will be treated as tress passer and shall be dealt with legal action.
